So far, there are many kinds of tapes produced, and you can choose different kinds according to different usage scenarios. The function of the tape is simple maintenance, fixing and repairing. Of course, if you do not master the correct use method, it will destroy the function of the tape and shorten the service life of the tape. Below are a few questions about the use of tape that customers often ask when purchasing adhesive tapes like Yuhuan. Let's take a look.

-Q: How will the performance of the tape change in high and low temperature environments?

A: When the temperature increases, the glue and foam will become softer, and the bond strength will decrease, but the adhesion will be better. When the temperature is lowered, the tape will harden, the bond strength will increase but the adhesion will become worse. The tape performance will return to its original value as the temperature returns to normal.

-Q: How do I remove the parts after they are pasted?

A: Generally speaking, this is difficult, except very shortly after posting. Before removing, it is necessary to wet the part to soften the adhesive surface, soften it and peel it off with force or cut open the foam with a knife or other tools. Residues of glue and foam can be easily removed with special cleaners or other solvents.

-Q: Can the tape be lifted and re-applied after bonding?

A: If the parts are only pressed with a very light force, they can be lifted and then pasted again. But if it is fully compacted, it is difficult to peel off, the glue may be stained, and the tape needs to be replaced. If the part has been attached for a long time, it is more difficult to remove, and the entire part is usually replaced.

-Q: How long can the release paper be removed before the tape is applied?

A: The air has little effect on the adhesive, but the dust in the air will contaminate the surface of the adhesive, thereby reducing the performance of the adhesive tape. Therefore, the shorter the exposure time of the glue to the air, the better. We recommend applying tape immediately after removing the release paper.

Tips for adhesive tape lamination

-1. For best results, the material surface must be clean and dry. Generally, it is recommended to use a cloth with a mixture of IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) and water in a ratio of 1:1 to wipe and clean the surface, and wait until the surface is completely dry. (Note: Please refer to the recommended precautions for this solvent before using IPA).

-2. Apply the tape to the surface of the material, and apply an average pressure of about 15psi (1.05kg/cm2) with a roller or other means (squeegee) to make it fit effectively.

-3. Follow the bonding method of the tape from point to line to surface contacting the bonding surface. In the way of manual lamination, use a plastic scraper or a roller to glue with a firm and uniform pressure. It should be ensured that the pressure has been applied to the glue surface before the glue is in contact with the sticker, so as to avoid air wrapping it.

-4. Tear off the tape release paper (if in the previous step, make sure that there is no air between the glue and the object to be attached, and then attach the material to be attached, and also apply 15psi of pressure to make it fit effectively. , if you want to remove air bubbles, it is recommended to increase the pressure to the limit that the item can withstand. The recommended operating conditions are 15psi, 15 seconds.

-5. It is recommended that the ideal construction temperature is between 15°C and 38°C, and should not be lower than 10°C.

-6. To keep the tape with stable quality until use, it is recommended that the storage environment be 21°C and 50% relative humidity.

-7. When using tape without substrate, it is recommended not to touch the tape again when processing the edge of the cut shape to avoid sticking.

Q: How long can the release paper be removed before the tape is applied?

A: The air has little effect on the adhesive, but the dust in the air will contaminate the surface of the adhesive, thereby reducing the performance of the adhesive tape. Therefore, the shorter the exposure time of the glue to the air, the better. We recommend applying tape immediately after removing the release paper.
